Nike is releasing a special new rendition of the Replica Dunk Low dedicated to Lisa Leslie, the first woman to dunk in a WNBA game.
Born and raised in Southern California, Lisa Leslie worked her way up from Inglewood High School all the way to USC and finally to the Los Angeles Sparks in 1997, where she led the team to 10 different playoff appearances Two WNBA champs. Her career came to a halt in 2009 when she retired with a few records. Now a coach, broadcaster and part owner of the Los Angeles Sparks, she will now receive a special low-key rendition of Replica Dunk to honor her lasting mark on women's basketball.
The product is expected to feature a leather design, requiring purple and gold paneling and overlays, and adding a teal Nike Swoosh logo on the side. A number 9 is included on the ankle as another shoutout to the Leslie jersey number, while a white rubber midsole and purple outsole complete the design.
